1950, 1rupee Coin.
1950 Indian one-rupee coin.
This coin was part of the first coinage series of Republic India, introduced on August 15, 1950.
It replaced the earlier British Indian coinage, with the King's portrait being replaced by the Lion Capital of the Ashoka Pillar on the obverse (not visible in this image) and a corn sheaf replacing the tiger on the reverse, as seen here.
The Indian 1-rupee coin is made up of a hundred paisas.
Coins in India are minted at four mints located in Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Noida, owned by the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Ltd (SPMCIL).
